Ad of the Day: Burberry and Olivia Colman send love letters from London

Burberry’s latest campaign turns the everyday British drizzle into cinematic charm with ‘It’s Always Burberry Weather: Postcards From London,’ starring Olivia Colman.

Directed by Shakespeare in Love’s John Madden, the series of short films features Colman embodying a cast of quintessential Londoners, from a cricket fan to a tour guide, meeting the city’s wide-eyed visitors with warmth and wit.

Creative director Daniel Lee continues to stitch humor into heritage, pairing Colman’s character acting with a supporting cast of models including Tyson Beckford, Lucky Blue Smith, Liu Wen, Amelia Gray and Mona Tougaard. In a fish and chip shop, for example, viewers see Smith become perplexed at the sight of a saveloy sausage.

The campaign extends beyond the screen, with railway-inspired pop-ups around the world that nod to founder Thomas Burberry’s utilitarian roots.
